November - Day 1

November is here, which means only a few more weeks until my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving combines two of my favorite things, family and food. I get excited just thinking about it. Despite the hard work, my favorite part is all the prep and cooking the night before. I remember my mom and my aunts all getting together when I was young and cooking the night before Thanksgiving. Then I would wake up to the smell of turkey roasting in the oven and watch the parade on television. Good times. As the holidays get closer, I also think about all that I am thankful for this year. Last year I challenged myself to list something I was thankful for each day in November on Facebook. This year I would like to do it again, but on my blog instead.

Day 1

I am thankful for my family. I have the best family anyone could ever ask for. My children are so amazing, each in their own little way. My parents are awesome, and I am blessed to still be able to live close to them and see them as often as I would like. They are wonderful grandparents to my kids. My brother is the best brother anyone could ask for, and so incredibly smart. He gets me when other people dont. At the end of last year we lost my dear mother in law. I have been thinking about her alot lately. Man I miss her. I will miss her at our table this year for Thanksgiving. She had an incredible spirit and wasnt afraid of what anyone thought of her. She had guts. My family has always been there for me and for that I am truly grateful. I am very blessed to have them all. What are you thankful for?
