Peach Crostada

Summer is almost here, and nothing reminds me of summer more than the taste of a fresh peach. In honor of Summer, I made a peach crostada. It would make a perfect dessert for a party. This is the easiest crostada  recipe I have found so far. You will not regret making this dessert. I love how rustic and simple it is. It is perfect. Enjoy.

Peach Crostada
adapted from www.jennystephens.blogspot.com

1 pie dough
3 peaches, skin on and sliced
3 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon butter, cut into pieces
1 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
1 egg for eggwash

Roll out the pie dough into a 10 to 12 inch circle. Pile peaches into the center. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the sugar onto the peaches, along with the cinnamon and nutmeg. Dot the peaches with butter, and sprinkle a little more sugar on. Fold up the sides of the dough, and pinch them together. Create an egg wash by beating 1 egg, then brushing it over the pastry. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the dough. Bake at 425 for   15 to 20 minutes.
