I work for a fast paced Neurology group, and I am always meeting new people. Some good, some bad, and some just plain crazy. Every so often someone comes into the office that inspires me. Tuesday is our pediatric day, and a lady came in with her son. They were checking out and she explained to him he would be having an MRI. He seemed scared, and was about to cry. She took off his glasses and told him to look at her, he did. She said " I will be in there every step of the way, and will stay the entire time." She then said the machine doesnt ever touch him and would only make lots of noise. She just kept saying it cannot hurt you. I then knew something had happened to the child. The mother then explained he was adopted by her, and she adopted 3 other children as well. This woman was so good with him, so loving and patient. His fear seemed to melt away.
She laughed and said " People think I must be crazy to adopt four children at the age of 41." I smiled at her. I told her it wasnt crazy at all to me. Every child deserves to be loved and taken care of, they deserve to feel safe. She did just that. The world needs more people like her. God did a great thing by placing those kids with her. At the end of her visit at the office, she told me she has 5 children. After adopting the four, she found out she was pregnant. It's funny how life works sometimes isn't it? Have you been inspired by someone recently?
