Hamburger Fundraiser

Tonight my family and I attended a fundraiser for the Coats for Kids Program. This was my first year to attend, and I am so glad I went. $5.00 bought a burger, chips, and drink. You cant beat that, and it went to a great cause. Many children in our community would not have a coat for the colder weather if it wasnt for this program.

My brother and my cousin Stephanie helped host and put together the entire event. They did an awesome job. Tonight reminded me of how wonderful it is to be part of a small community. So many people came out to donate and show their support for the cause. It was so nice. They had a great turn out so many children will have a brand new jacket for the winter soon.

A few state representives even made an appearance. An anonymous person heard about the fundraiser on the radio and donated $500.00. Thank you to whoever you are. Your generosity was greatly appreciated and you helped many families. Tonight reminded me that good people still exist in the world. It reminded me of the great things that can happen when people work together. We should all do it more often, just think of how much we could accomplish.
