I Love Sundays

This morning we all woke up a little later than normal. I love when that happens on the weekends. I made the kids a warm batch of cinnamon rolls while Allen and I made lattes. I am getting pretty good at making lattes. At this point Starbucks might even hire me. ( Insert laughter here.)

It was the perfect Sunday morning. Even Buddy wanted to be lazy. He sat on the window seal practically all day long. I am finding the best Sundays are filled with the laughter of the kids, our family gathering in the kitchen while I prepare breakfast, and just taking the time to enjoy life. We should do it more often. The kids enjoyed a little dessert before lunch. I think they now prefer pots de creme over chocolate pudding. It was a dessert before dinner, comfort food, and never change out of our pajamas kind of day.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my family? Or our cozy little home? Even with all of its flaws  and imperfections. Or how much I just love Sundays??? What is your favorite day of the weekend?

Style Resolutions

This year we are doing things a bit differently in our house. Not only are we working on our personal resolutions, we are also working on a few style resolutions as well. I will be honest, the style resolutions are much more fun. With the holidays being over, I wanted to give our home a fresh new look by making small changes in each space of the house. The first changes were made in the living room. I finally purchased the console table I had been wanting. I cannot believe I didnt get it sooner. The white garden stool was an accidental find while in search of something else. It adds additional seating without taking up too much space. Very pretty in front of the window paired with the console. I wish I could have found another one to go with it.

Fresh flowers are always a nice touch to any room. Hydrangeas are my favorite. I also bought a new mercury glass lamp for the table. Our other lamp wasnt the right height. We went to PotteryBarn last weekend and I found a few new votive candle holders. The one shown above is my favorite. An old photo was placed in a new frame to complete the look.

I may have mentioned this before but I love lanterns. Love love love them. So I could not pass up the opportunity to buy this one from the new Spring collection at PotteryBarn. The orange one provides a nice punch of color. A few books and another votive completes the new look. Over the next few weeks I will be posting more of our style resolutions. Are you renovating a space in your home right now? Do you have any style resolutions?

Homes in the Movies

I often find myself watching movies just to check out the sets or the homes featured in the movie. I will watch a movie multiple times just so I can look at the set again. I have been looking on the net and realized I am not the only one who does this. I have a list of my favorite movie sets and found pictures to share with you. You will soon discover that I love all Nancy Meyer's movies and sets. What is your favorite movie/televison set of all time?

I Heart These Spaces

Pinterest will be the death of me. I cannot stop pinning! Isn't there a rehab facility I can go to or a pinners anonymous meeting of some sort? With that being said I found a few photographs of some spaces that I am totally in love with, each for a different reason.

This is my favorite space. I wouldn't change anything in the room.

I love the built in seating, the rug, and the overall cozy feeling of this room. I can imagine having breakfast in the space.

I love the doors and the crown detailing on the walls.

What's not to love?
I like the art displayed on the walls and the french doors. I could jump right into this bed and just stare out these doors all day long.

The blue and the coral are lovely together. I want this headboard.
